Η απεικόνιση του μέλλοντος στις μέρες μας μπορεί σε κάποιες περιπτώσεις να μοιάζει μια ζοφερή επιδίωξη. Ωστόσο, προσπαθώντας να επαναπροσδιορίσουμε την καινοτόμο και ανθεκτική φύση του είδους μας ας φανταστούμε τις δυνατότητές του.
Η Kart Productions σε συνεργασία με τη NOVUS Theatre, που εδρεύουν στην Ελλάδα και σε συνεργασία με το Θέατρο Τέχνης Κάρολου Κουν, παρουσιάζουν ένα podcast-ραδιοφωνικό θεατρικό έργο χρησιμοποιώντας το διαδραστικό κείμενο της Zoë Svendsen στο οποίο μια σειρά από φωνές σε διαφορετικές ηλικίες, φύλο, υπόβαθρο και βιωμένες εμπειρίες φαντάζονται ένα μέλλον κάπως αλλιώς.
«-Η σημαντικότερη δουλειά αυτή τη στιγμή είναι να δημιουργήσεις, να φανταστείς, να χτίσεις και να φτιάξεις, έχοντας πλήρη γνώση για το ότι
-ΔΕΝ ΞΕΡΟΥΜΕ.
-Δε θα μπορούσαμε να ξέρουμε τί είναι αυτό που «λειτουργεί» πριν ξεκινήσουμε
-ή ακόμα και κατά τη διάρκεια που προσπαθούμε.
-Και είναι παρακινδυνευμένο- και υπάρχει λίγος χρόνος.
Ό,τι και να μεταμορφώσουμε θα είναι μια ζωή σε κλιματική αβεβαιότητα.
-Ο καιρός που θα μπορούσαμε να μιλήσουμε για μια κάποια σωτηρία έχει παρέλθει.
-Το να οραματίζεσαι ένα διαφορετικό μέλλον σκοντάφτει πάνω στην πραγματικότητα.
-Ελπίζω τουλάχιστον να συμφωνείτε, ότι οραματιζομενος τα πράγματα κάπως αλλιώς, μπορεί η σκέψη αυτή να γίνει ένα καταφύγιο από τα ερείπια του παρόντος.
Με κάποιο τρόπο γίνεσαι μάρτυρας στο γεγονός πως θα μπορούσε να είναι διαφορετικά.
Το να φαντάζεσαι διαφορετικά είναι μια σανίδα σωτηρίας,
-Είναι μια πρόσκληση για συζήτηση.»

Imaging the future these days is usually a bleak pursuit. Still, we strive to recognize the innovative and resilient nature of our species and to imagine its potential.
Kart Productions in partnership with NOVUS Theatre, both based in Greece, presents a podcast-audio performance using the interactive text "Love Out Of Ruins" by Zoë Svendsen in which a number of voices with a range of ages, genders, backgrounds, and lived experiences imagine a different kind of future.
In the words of the playwright:
It is interested in the idea that the crucial work now is to create, imagine, build and make– in full knowledge that we don’t, can’t and won’t know ‘what works’ before we start, or even as we are making this attempt. In this there
is jeopardy, and there is little time– any transformation will be living with climate unpredictability– the time for a ‘saviour’ mentality is past. The
act of imagining alternative futures might usher in to reality possibilities that
previously had been excluded. But at the very least, I hope you
will find as we have, that imagining otherwise can offer a refuge from the ruins of the present– bearing witness to the fact it doesn’t have to be like this.
The podcast will be presented December 10th, 2021 in both and English and Greek.
